From altitude, the glacier reveals its interior architecture: blue-white seracs thrust upward where the ice field meets the mountain's edge, the slow violence of ten thousand years made suddenly legible. Dark schist cuts through the frozen mass like veins, anchoring the eye before the mind accepts the scale. The body understands cold here before the mind does, that particular stillness that precedes surrender. This is ice at the threshold, neither held nor fallen, suspended in the longest of movements.
